The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) has opened a new office at Grand Anse Praslin.

This formed part of the SRC’s 10th year anniversary celebrations last week which also included a sensitisation fair at the Pension Fund Complex in that same district.

The activities which were conducted over one day saw the participation of several individuals, particularly secondary school students.

The public had the opportunity to make queries, register their businesses with the SRC as well as settle their tax payment on the day.

The Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA) and the Seychelles Pension Fund were also present to showcase the various services they provide as well as give advice to interested participants.

The highlight of the day was the opening of the new SRC office in the Diamond Plaza building (better known by Praslinois as Jose Confait’s Building). The office is situated on the ground floor next to Cable & Wireless and MCB bank. The opening was done by the SRC’s commissioner general Veronique Herminie, in the presence of tax commissioner Marie-France Fanchette and other officers and staff of the commission.

In an interview with the press, Mrs Fanchette stated that the new office is part of SRC’s effort to decentralise their services and come closer to the community.

She continued by saying the modern and more comfortable office will provide all services currently available in other offices around the country and will complement services being offered by the Baie Ste Anne office which is situated in the Seychelles Licensing Authority’s office.

Originally, the office was based in the first floor of the Pension Fund building but the move should allow it to be more accessible and visible to the public.
