Youth team lose to South Africa and Mozambique
There have been mixed results for our two national selections taking part in the Africa Zone six of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy tournament presently taking place in Lusaka, Zambia.
The under-21 team narrowly won their first match at the tournament 29-28 against Malawi on Wednesday, while the under-18 selection lost their second match 18-22 to South Africa.
In their first match on Tuesday, the under-18 side emerged victorious after thrashing Lesotho 43-11.
On the third day of the tournament which is being hosted by the IHF in partnership with the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB) and the Handball Association of Zambia (HAZ), the under-18 selection of coach Tony Hortère were up against Mozambique yesterday and they lost once again on a 10-38 score.
As for the under-21 selection under the guidance of coach Emmanuel Larue, they played hosts Zambia.
