Minister Fanny examines medical advances in China

Minister for Health Dr Marvin Fanny, currently on an official visit to China, visited Beijing Haidian Hospital and Hygea Medical Technology to gain first-hand insight into developments in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive cancer treatment.

At Haidian Hospital, the minister observed a demonstration of robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery, including its use in treating complex pelvic fractures. The technology helps surgeons plan and perform procedures with greater precision, particularly where the accurate placement of instruments and implants is critical.
