Allied Health Professions Day 2026 |14 October 2026
Minister hails contribution of allied health professionals
“Today, October 14, 2026, Seychelles joins the global celebration of Allied Health Professions Day under the theme ‘Celebrating AHPs Delivers’. For Seychelles, this theme speaks directly to the invaluable contribution of our allied health professionals and to the transformation we are pursuing through our New Era of Care.
“Across our islands, allied health professionals play an essential role in protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of our population. Working alongside medical doctors, dentists, nurses and other health professionals, allied health professionals contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention and surveillance of illness and disease. Their knowledge, expertise and skills complement those of other health professionals and help ensure that patients receive comprehensive, coordinated and person-centred care.
“The contribution of allied health professionals extends far beyond the walls of our health facilities. They work closely with patients and families, while their impact is felt in homes, communities, schools, workplaces and across the population. The work of allied health professionals is therefore fundamental to ensuring that people can live healthier, more independent and productive lives.
“Today, we celebrate all allied health professionals in Seychelles – such include physiotherapists,
occupational therapists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, environmental health officers, radiographers, biomedical engineering professionals, nutrition professionals, psychologists, speech and language therapists, laboratory professionals, emergency medical technicians, dental surgery assistants, and the many other allied health professionals who contribute to the health and wellbeing of our nation.
“On behalf of the government of Seychelles and the Ministry of Health, I would like to say thank you.
Thank you for the care you provide, the expertise you bring, the patients you empower, the families you support and the difference you make every day. Your dedication and commitment are an essential part of delivering quality healthcare to our people.
“I wish all our allied health professionals a meaningful and proud Allied Health Professions Day 2026.”
Dr Marvin Fanny
