The Ministry of Social Affairs, Family & Equality has organised a training session aimed at strengthening social workers’ understanding of court proceedings in cases involving children.
Held at the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) conference room in Victoria, the session was facilitated by lawyer and member of the National Assembly Bernard Georges. It covered court procedures, the preparation of social reports, the presentation of evidence and legal aid procedures.
In her opening remarks, principal secretary for Social Affairs Beryl Payet said social workers regularly deal with cases involving child neglect, abuse, family separation, custody disputes and access arrangements.
