Sporting memories, October 9 in Seychelles

Every day, the archives of the Seychelles NATION open a window into another chapter of the country’s sporting story.

On October 9, we turn back the pages of the newspaper to revisit some of the sporting articles that appeared on this date over the years.

They take us back to a different sporting era, bringing into focus the athletes who made headlines, the teams and clubs who competed, the coaches and officials who played their part, and the events that captured the attention of sports followers across the islands.

An important point to remember is that the date in this feature refers to the publication date of the article in the Seychelles NATION.

It does not necessarily mean that the match, competition or achievement took place on October 9.
