Senior citizens from communities across Seychelles were honoured yesterday during a special mass at St Thérèse Parish in Plaisance to mark the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually on October 1.
The occasion also coincided with the parish feast, Lafet St Thérèse, bringing together elderly residents, parishioners and distinguished guests for a morning of prayer and celebration.
Among those present were First Lady Véronique Herminie, Vice-President Sebastien Pillay, Minister for Local Government & Inner Islands Eveline Rose, principal secretary for Family Affairs & Equality Mike Morel, the director of the Disabled in the Family Department, as well as other guests and parish members.
