As the University of Seychelles (UniSey) marks its 17th anniversary in 2026, Seychelles NATION highlights the journeys of Seychellois whose lives have been shaped by the country’s national university.
Since its founding in 2009, UniSey has grown into more than a place to earn qualifications. It has become a cornerstone of Seychelles’ educational and professional landscape, offering young people and working adults opportunities to pursue higher education while staying close to home, family and community.
For many, the university has provided more than academic knowledge. It has built confidence, encouraged critical thinking, developed leadership and professional skills, and inspired graduates to contribute to the nation in diverse ways.
