Lorenzo Hoareau nets hat-trick as Seychelles edge Mauritius 4-3
A hat-trick by player-of-the-match Lorenzo Hoareau helped Seychelles claim their first ever victory in the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations / Council of Southern Africa Football Associations qualifier yesterday as they edged Mauritius 4-3.
Playing their second match in group A after losing their first encounter on a 1-4 score against hosts Mozambique, the Seychelles team fell behind in the 21st minute yesterday at the ABB Stadium in Matola, Mozambique.
Quentin Lalsing put Mauritius ahead in the 21st minute, but their advantage lasted only six minutes before Seychelles were awarded a penalty and Hoareau converted from the spot to level the scores.
