La Rosière primary school nears completion

The Minister for Education & Human Resource Development, David Pierre, appeared before the National Assembly yesterday to answer an urgent question from Hon. Robert David, elected member for Mont Buxton, on the status of the La Rosière primary school.

Hon. David sought an update on when the school, situated at Hangard Street, including all necessary facilities, will be completed and opened to accommodate students. He also asked what difficulties the ministry had encountered during the project.

Minister Pierre explained that the construction comprises three components, undertaken by three different contractors:

• New classroom block
• Pile foundation repairs to the old block
• Repairs to other existing blocks
