Plastic pollution remains one of the growing environmental challenges for island destinations, where limited land and waste‑management capacity make disposal particularly difficult.
The tourism and hospitality sector – reliant on a clean and healthy marine and coastal environment – is therefore being encouraged to take practical steps to reduce its plastic footprint.
