Strengthening Seychelles’ biosecurity through awareness and prevention

The importance of biosecurity in safeguarding Seychelles’ fragile island ecosystems was highlighted yesterday during a workshop at the Savoy Resort & Spa, which brought together stakeholders from conservation, agriculture, and environmental protection.

Organised to strengthen national and local capacity in biosecurity management for island conservation, the workshop, aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of biosecurity, its significance, and how preventive measures can reduce the risk of invasive species entering the country.
