Artists celebrate Seychelles-Russia friendship through plein air exhibition

Artists from Seychelles and Russia have joined forces to mark 50 years of Seychelles’ independence and five decades of diplomatic relations between Seychelles and the Russian Federation through a plein air art exhibition.

Organised by the Seychelles Russia Ex-USSR Friendship Association, the A Plein Air initiative began with an outdoor painting session at Venn’s Town on September 6, followed by continued work at the National Library yesterday.

The project brought together Russian artists Artur Mirzoyan, Daria Karacheva and Tatiana Dvoryadkina, alongside Seychellois artists Daniel Dodin, Ryan Chetty, Maryse Camille, Samuel Morel and Terry Moncherry. Working side by side, they drew inspiration from Seychelles’ natural surroundings while exchanging ideas and experiences.
