SADC PF begins consultations on landmark Model Law on Rule of Law and Constitutionalism

The SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) has begun stakeholder consultations on a proposed regional Model Law on the Rule of Law and Constitutionalism.

The initiative is designed to provide Southern African countries with a shared reference point for strengthening constitutional governance, accountable institutions, human rights and citizen participation.

The first consultation, held virtually on Thursday last week, brought together representatives of civil society, the media, academia, women’s rights organisations, faith-based and traditional institutions, United Nations agencies, development partners and other regional stakeholders.
