Seychelles players make their mark in Namibia
Three Seychellois chess players recently represented Seychelles at the 2026 Windhoek Namibia Open, a Fide-rated tournament held from August 26 to 30 at the University of Namibia’s Main Campus in Windhoek.
The tournament was contested over nine rounds using the Swiss system, with two games played each day from the opening round through to the ninth and final round on Sunday August 30.
Played under a time control of 75 minutes plus an additional 30 seconds per move from move one, the competition attracted 68 players from several countries, including Seychelles, Namibia, Angola and Zimbabwe.
