Seychelles judokas shine in Réunion with seven medals
The Seychelles team returned from the 9th International Open Judo des Mascareignes in Réunion with a strong medal haul, collecting four gold, one silver and two bronze medals, while Elin Bistoé was recognised as the best overall minimes girl competitor of the tournament.
The competition, held from August 29-30, brought together judokas from across the Indian Ocean region and France, and the Seychellois athletes used the opportunity to test themselves against international opposition.
The strongest individual performances came across all three Seychelles clubs represented at the tournament, with Etoile Judo Club, Grand Anse Praslin Judo Club and Baie Ste Anne Judo Club all producing medal-winning performances.
