Future seafarers ready for careers

Fourteen young Seychellois have returned home after successfully completing a 2.5‑month pre‑sea shipboard training programme at the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (Cinec) in Sri Lanka.

The 10th cohort of pre‑sea trainees was welcomed back by the Seychelles Petroleum Company (Seypec) during a re‑orientation reception held yesterday morning at the company’s headquarters. The group, comprising one girl and 13 boys, was presented with their on‑board training record books, marking the completion of their initial training before embarking on the next stage of their maritime careers.
