Mahé Martial Arts fighters claim 26 medals

Mahé Martial Arts team returned from Mauritius with 26 medals, including 14 gold, following a strong performance at the seventh Open Africa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held at Côte d’Or on August 8-9, 2026.

The 12-athlete team, accompanied by coach Vivian Hoareau, collected 14 gold, 10 silver and 2 bronze medals, with every Mahé Martial Arts competitor returning home with at least one medal.

Mahé Martial Arts formed the majority of Team Seychelles, who brought together 15 athletes from two local teams competing under the Sport Ju-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Seychelles.
