Seychelles badminton gets new equipment from Japan

New players who want to join badminton can now be more easily accommodated after the Seychelles Badminton Association received a new batch of equipment which will help to boost its youth development programme.

In a special ceremony yesterday at the La Promenade Gymnasium, Japanese ambassador to Seychelles, Makoto Tominaga, handed over 80 new rackets to the chairman of the local badminton governing body Michel Bau who is also the president of the Badminton Confederation Africa.

Present at the ceremony were the president of the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) Antonio Gopal, coaches, players alongside members of the local badminton association’s executive committee.

The gift is from the Nippon Badminton Association (NBA,) which is the national governing body for the sport of badminton in Japan.
