President Herminie congratulates karatekas Samuel Fanny, Phillip Moustache
President Patrick Herminie yesterday morning received Samuel Fanny and Phillip Moustache, members of Seychelles' Kyokushin Karate School, following their historic achievement at the 2nd World Kyokushin-Ryu Open Karate Championships held in late June in Astana, Kazakhstan.
In the kata category at the Beeline Arena, seventeen-year-old Fanny repeated his impressive feat from October 2024 at Baodi Stadium in Tianjin, China, by securing his second title as World Junior Kata champion. Although he also competed in the kumite division, he was eliminated after facing highly experienced and formidable opponents.
