India-Seychelles friendship celebrated through chess
The close friendship between India and Seychelles will be celebrated through the Indian Independence Day Rapid Chess Tournament 2026, bringing together chess players of all ages for a weekend of competition, learning and sporting camaraderie.
Organised by the High Commission of India, Victoria, in partnership with the Seychelles Chess Federation, the tournament highlights the strong ties between the two nations while promoting the values of strategy, discipline and fair play that chess represents.
The competition will take place over two days, beginning on Saturday August 8, with the under-12 (U-12) and U-18 categories.
