District administrators (DAs) from across the country yesterday participated in a specialised financial literacy training programme designed to equip them with the knowledge and practical tools needed to better guide and educate their communities on financial matters.
The initiative, organised by the Ministry of Local Government & Inner Islands in collaboration with the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS), forms part of ongoing efforts to improve financial awareness at the grassroots level through the ‘Train the Trainer Programme for Community Workers’.
All district administrators attended the training, recognising their role as the first point of contact for residents seeking advice before approaching financial institutions or government agencies.
Opening the session, principal secretary for Local Government & Community Services, Vicky Van Der Westhuizen, said the programme was designed to empower DAs with the confidence and knowledge to support the public on basic financial matters.
