President Herminie receives credentials of Slovak ambassador Maroš Mitrík

Friendly ties between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Seychelles – particularly in education and health – were the focus of discussions yesterday as Ambassador Maroš Mitrík presented his credentials to President Patrick Herminie at State House.

Ambassador Mitrík was accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs & the Diaspora Barry Faure and principal secretary Ian Madeleine. “We had a very productive conversation because President Herminie knows our country well and has connections with Slovakia. We discussed the current situation and explored ways to strengthen cooperation, especially in education and healthcare. We also touched on collaboration in multilateral forums,” Ambassador Mitrík said.

Since the establishment of ties, 23 Seychellois students have graduated in Slovakia, mostly in general medicine, and 24 are currently enrolled at Slovak universities.
