Seychelles still awaits new national sports policy as stakeholders discuss future direction
Despite bringing together the country's key sporting stakeholders to discuss the future of sports, the 2026 National Sports Forum concluded with Seychelles still awaiting an approved National Sports Policy.
While sporting activities have continued through the efforts of the National Sports Council (NSC), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and national sports federations and associations, the expiry of the National Sports Policy 2020–2024 means the sector has been operating without an official national framework to guide its long-term development.
