Seychelles and China mark 50 years of friendship
A vibrant symphony of drumbeats, flowing silk, and high-energy martial arts filled the newly constructed, China-aided Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) building yesterday, as Seychelles and China celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
Over the past half-century, the partnership between Victoria and Beijing has grown from formal accords into a deep-rooted friendship. Built on mutual respect, the two nations have strengthened cooperation in infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, and culture – bringing shared prosperity to both peoples.
Ambassador Lin Nan of the People’s Republic of China delivered a heartfelt reflection on the enduring ties: “Fifty years ago, our two countries crossed the vast Indian Ocean to extend hands of friendship. Today, we stand not merely as diplomatic partners, but as brothers and sisters bonded by heart, vision, and shared aspirations.”
