Police inspector testifies before Commission on Montagne Posée prison riot

Another witness from the Seychelles Police Force appeared yesterday before the Commission of Inquiry into the Montagne Posée prison riot of December 5, 2024. Inspector Davis Simeon, who has served in various divisions of the force, provided testimony that shed light on his career, investigative work, and the sensitive operations he was involved in prior to the riot.

Inspector Simeon explained that he began his career in the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), serving for 15 years before briefly leaving the force. He later rejoined and has now been back for eight years, working in both general duties and the CID Priority Unit. This unit, he noted, was a small group of officers tasked with handling high-profile cases, including investigations into missing persons and human trafficking.
