Foundation stone laid for the UAE-supported Anse Royale indoor sports complex
A major milestone in Seychelles’ sporting development was reached yesterday as President Dr Patrick Herminie, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Chargé d'Affaires to the Republic of Seychelles Ahmed Saeed Alneyadi, and Sports Minister Kalsey Belle unveiled the commemorative plaque and laid the foundation stone for the new Anse Royale indoor sports complex.
Attended by Principal Minister Wallace Cosgrow, Cabinet Ministers, along with representatives of the Embassy of the UAE in Seychelles, and other government officials, the ceremony officially marked the beginning of construction for a modern sports facility that is expected to bring new opportunities for athletes, schools, clubs and communities, particularly in the southern districts of Mahé.
