Celebrating seafarers: Backbone of global trade

“Today, we pay tribute to all seafarers – Seychellois and international – who serve with dedication, courage and professionalism. Your work often takes place beyond public view, yet its impact is felt every day across the world.

“This year’s theme, ‘Carrying world trade. Carrying the risks’, is a powerful reminder of the vital role seafarers play in sustaining global commerce while facing the many challenges of life at sea.

“For generations, seafarers have crossed oceans, connected people, and supported communities through trade and fishing, forming an enduring part of human history.
