Russian Language Day strengthens cultural ties in Seychelles
A screening of the documentary film ‘We Believed’, dedicated to the history of friendly relations between Russia and Seychelles, was held at GranKaz Restaurant, Bel Ombre, on June 8. The event was organised by the African Initiative news agency in collaboration with the Russian embassy, and timed to coincide with the birthday of poet Alexander Pushkin.
In his welcoming remarks, Dmitrii Yurievich Iordanidi, Minister-Counsellor of the Russian embassy, highlighted the mutual interest between the two nations: “The people of your beautiful country show great interest in Russian civilisation, Russian culture, Russian literature and Pushkin. Believe me, this interest is mutual.”
