Rovers secure historic promotion as St Michel suffer first-ever relegation
Rovers have earned promotion to the Absa Premier League after overcoming St Michel United 7-5 on aggregate score in a dramatic two-legged play-off series at Stad Linite, completing a remarkable rise to Seychelles' top flight while condemning one of the country's most established clubs to a historic relegation.
Although St Michel claimed a thrilling 4-3 victory in Friday's second leg, the damage inflicted by Rovers in the opening encounter proved decisive as the second division side secured promotion with a 7-5 aggregate triumph.
