Through the passage of time and thanks to a small collection of old photos, Ismael Chaka provides us with a glimpse back in time of what it was like to have been a sporting legacy, first as a dedicated and talented striker in the Rangers’ Football Club, and then as an assistant coach to the Seychelles national football team.

Looking back at our country’s sporting history, football was the main sporting activity in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Sadly, I understand that several of the sports photos that were being kept at the Seychelles NATION’s archives were either badly damaged or lost forever during the devastating tsunami that struck Seychelles in December 2004.
