Seychelles Karate Federation hosts National Championships 2026 |25 April 2026
The Seychelles Karate Federation will be holding its national championships 2026 today at the Judo Dojo at Roche Caïman. The event will start at 9am until around 5pm.
Around 80 karatekas from Mahe and Praslin hailing from four different karate schools, namely Shotokan, Kyokushin, Ashihara and Combat Tang Soo Do, will be competing in kata (forms) and kumite (fighting) in different categories ranging from juniors up to veterans.
The competition will be conducted under the World Karate Federation’s (WKF) rules for both kata and kumite. The federation is an affiliated member of the WKF.
In preparation for this event, the federation has invited an officiating expert to conduct a three-day seminar to upgrade the level of its referees and judges.
Tickets for the event costing R25 will be on sale at the door. The general public is invited to come and support our local karatekas.
