Seychelles Basketball Federation sparks debate with new 3x3 coaching call

As the standard of Seychelles sport continues to decline, both in terms of performance on the field and administrative management, controversy has erupted over the Seychelles Basketball Federation.

Earlier this month, the federation announced an open call for head coaches for the men’s and women’s national 3x3 basketball teams, despite the fact that the current coaching staff remains under contract until September 2026.

The announcement, which invites applicants to submit a curriculum vitae and a two-year coaching programme between April 6 and 12, 2026, has raised eyebrows among players, analysts, and administrators alike.

The current head coach, Guy Hall, and his assistant, Jefferson Nganga, were appointed in September 2024 for a two-year term.
