Former chief executive of the National Sports Council, Marc Arrisol has been appointed as the new principal secretary for Youth and Sports, replacing Fatime Kanté, who held the post for a brief period following the government reshuffle in November last year.
Mr Arrisol had been serving as chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) since January 1, 2023, when he succeeded Jean Larue, who had occupied the position since August 2018.
Miss Kanté has now been reassigned as principal secretary for the Department of Public Administration (DPA), while a new chief executive for the NSC is expected to be announced shortly.
This move forms part of the government’s institutional realignment aimed at strengthening governance and public administration.
Well known for his leadership in the field of education, Mr Arrisol is a former head teacher of Mont Fleuri secondary school.
