Rovers close the gap as La Passe seek redemption
The battle for the SFF Championship League title and promotion to the Absa Premier League has taken on an added layer of drama this season, with second-placed Rovers making a strong push to catch league leaders La Passe.
However, the story of this season cannot be told without recalling the controversy that saw La Passe demoted at the end of last season for allegedly fielding illegal players, a sanction that reshaped the competition’s landscape.
Currently, La Passe top the league standings with 42 points from 15 matches, while Rovers trail closely behind on 38 points, having played one additional match.
