Vice President receives Information Commission annual report, strategic plan

Vice President Sebastien Pillay, in his capacity as Minister for Information, met with Mumtaz Hasan, the chief information commissioner, commissioners Peter Lalande and Egbert Rosalie, and Information Commission chief executive Diana Benoit yesterday.

They presented their annual report for 2025 along with the strategic plan for 2026-2028.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review past achievements and discuss future initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency within the commission.

The report provides an overview of the commission's administrative activities, key achievements, and challenges during the reporting period. It also highlights the fulfilment of its statutory mandates under the Access to Information Act 2018 and the Data Protection Act 2023.
