Drifters register commanding 64-40 win over Baya

Drifters made an impressive start in the Seychelles Basketball Federation Pre-Season Cup with a commanding 64-40 victory over Baya in a group B first division clash on Wednesday afternoon at the Victoria Gymnasium, showcasing their trademark speed and aggression after overcoming a sluggish start.

Coached by Tony Hortère, Drifters faced early resistance from their opponents, who were guided by coach Michel Malbrook. Baya’s pressing plays allowed them to seize early momentum, edging Drifters 18-12 in the first quarter. However, the Anse Boileau-based team responded with determination in the second quarter, demonstrating resilience and teamwork to outscore their Bel Air-based opponents 18-11, taking a narrow 30-29 lead at half-time and setting the stage for what promised to be an explosive second half.
