World Wildlife Day 2026: ‘Healing nature, healing humanity’
World Wildlife Day is commemorated annually on March 3. It offers a vital opportunity to deepen our understanding of the environment we cherish and safeguard – for humanity and for the planet.
The United Nations proclaimed this day in 2013 to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora. Now, thirteen years later, in 2026, we find ourselves in a world where conflicts and wars continue to ripple across nations, with devastating repercussions. In this context, the call is urgent:
- May peace prevail across the globe.
- May wars come to an end.
- May the passive abuse of nature cease, so that we can continue documenting, researching, protecting, and restoring wildlife in peace, while advancing the sustainable use of natural resources.
