‘Lent 2026: A journey of repentance, forgiveness, and healing’

I welcome you brothers and sisters.

Lent is a season where we are called to journey with Jesus for forty days and forty nights. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry (Mt 4:1-2). Jesus was tempted. We are also tempted. The significance of Jesus’s temptations, especially because they occurred at the outset of his public ministry, seems best understood in terms of the kind of Messiah he was to be.
