Police record first fatal accident for 2026

A 20-year-old man from Val d’Andorre tragically lost his life following a vehicle accident that occurred yesterday afternoon at Au Cap, opposite the Takamaka Bay distillery.

In a communiqué, the Seychelles police confirmed that the victim was the rider of a motorcycle which collided with a pick-up along the Au Cap main road. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire.

The communiqué added that members of the public who were present at the scene rendered immediate help to the injured rider until emergency services arrived. Despite all efforts, the young man succumbed to his injuries.

The Seychelles police have extended their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway, and further updates will be provided as they become available, added the communiqué.
