President Herminie extends condolences following loss of transport sector workers

The President of the Republic, Dr Patrick Herminie, has conveyed his deepest condolences to the management and staff of the Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation after the recent passing of several dedicated colleagues from Air Seychelles, the Seychelles Ports Authority, and the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation.

Among those mourned are:

• Dorina Victor and André Macgaw, who devoted decades of service to Air Seychelles and proudly embodied the Creole Spirit throughout their distinguished careers.

• Christian Soomery, a highly respected harbour pilot who served the Seychelles Ports Authority with distinction for more than 16 years.

• Leroy Leon, a committed and dependable driver whose contribution was deeply valued by his colleagues and the wider sector.

These professionals made exemplary contributions to the safe operation and continued development of the nation’s transport sector. Their dedication to public service will be remembered with profound respect and gratitude.

President Herminie extends his heartfelt sympathies to their families, friends, and colleagues, assuring them that they do not grieve alone. The thoughts and prayers of the nation are with them during this time of sorrow.

The President also offers his condolences to all Seychellois families mourning the loss of loved ones, reaffirming that in moments of grief, the strength of the nation lies in unity, compassion, and shared humanity.
