Throughout 2025, Seychelles’ fisheries and blue economy sector achieved a series of meaningful milestones, reflecting steady progress in sustainability, transparency, and community development. From the introduction of a pension scheme for artisanal fishers and international recognition under the Fisheries Transparency Initiative, to new partnerships, infrastructure projects, and educational initiatives, the year underscored the country’s growing leadership in ocean governance while celebrating the people and institutions shaping Seychelles’ blue future.
