Seychelles ambassador to the US presents credentials to President Donald Trump
Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave presented her credentials to President Donald J. Trump at a ceremony at the White House on December 16, 2025.
On the occasion of her accreditation, Ambassador Fock Tave conveyed the best wishes of President Patrick Herminie to President Trump. She pointed out that the opening of the embassy of the United States of America (USA) in Victoria in June 2023 was a significant and welcome step towards deepening the engagements between the two countries, as well as advancing shared priorities.
She noted that maritime security remains a central pillar of cooperation between Seychelles and the United States of America (USA) and that training programmes from the USA have greatly enhanced the capabilities of the Seychelles Defence Forces, particularly the Coast Guard. She also added that Seychelles stands ready to contribute, however modestly, to advancing peace and security in the region.
In his remarks, President Trump conveyed the commitment of the USA to expanding the bilateral relations with Seychelles. He applauded Seychelles as an example of stability and added that the USA looks forward to working with the Seychelles government on shared goals of strengthening maritime security in the Indian Ocean region. He pointed out that the USA sees opportunities to collaborate on expending investment and increasing the economic ties between the two countries.
