Seychelles among first beneficiaries of WTO Fisheries Fund
Seychelles took part in the Sixth Steering Committee Meeting of the WTO Fisheries Funding Mechanism (Fish Fund), held in Geneva on November 18–19, 2025. The meeting marked a milestone in the implementation of the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies (AFS), as the Fund approved its first set of grants totalling US $2.9 million.
Representing Seychelles were Emy-Lee Lucas, trade attaché at the Permanent Mission in Geneva; Sheriffa Morel, director general for Fisheries; and Sean Padayachy, principal trade and marketing officer at the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Blue Economy.
