A life shaped by family, discipline and the art of movement
At 30 years old, Richard Kalume Kiringi carries with him a story built on the foundations of family, discipline, and a lifelong love for gymnastics. Born in Kenya, he grew up in an extended family so tight-knit that neighbours simply called them ‘Bighome’.
“We all lived so closely together,” he said, cheerfully. Among the many people who shaped him, his sister, Gladys Kalume, stands tallest. “She has been one of my greatest pillars, especially after we lost our parents,” Richard said.
