Census of economic activities to boost Seychelles’ business data framework

The National Bureau of Statistics has launched a pilot census for the upcoming Census of Economic Activities; a nationwide initiative aimed at improving the quality, accuracy and scope of business data collected across Seychelles.

The pilot phase, currently underway, will test key components of the full census, including survey design, data collection methods and digital reporting tools. The exercise, scheduled to precede the full rollout of the Census of Economic Activities (CEA) in 2026, seeks to ensure that the country’s economic statistics accurately reflect the structure, diversity and performance of all businesses operating locally – from large enterprises to micro and informal businesses.
