Hon. Andy Labonté honours young hero from English River for act of bravery

Elected member of the National Assembly for English River, Honourable Andy Labonté, has commended 22-year-old Harly Andre of English River for his heroic act to save the lives of two visitors on October 27 in Grand Anse Mahe.

Mr Labonté met with Harly at his office on Tuesday October 29, 2025. The meeting was an opportunity for the MNA to express his admiration and appreciation for the young man’s courage and selflessness. During the exchange, Hon. Labonté presented Harly with a certificate of appreciation and a token of gratitude on behalf of the English River community. Harly was accompanied by his grandmother, Mary-Paule Marie, as his mother, Tina Brioche, was unable to attend.
