A day of care and connection
As part of housekeeping week, a team from DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles – Allamanda Resort & Spa stepped beyond the resort to spend a day with the residents of the Anse Royale Home for the Elderly; an initiative that also coincided with the International Day of Older Persons, marked globally on October 1.
On September 24, 2025, ten members of the housekeeping and operations team volunteered their time to refresh all 11 resident rooms, working alongside the home’s staff and Lindy Roucou to deep-clean, tidy verandas, and lovingly prepare each space with care and dignity.
To further support the home, the team also donated essential items including fresh bed linens, towels, pillowcases, and toiletries, helping ease the everyday workload for caregivers while adding comfort for the residents.
Doreen Deletourdie, hotel manager, shared, “At DoubleTree we say, ‘When you care, it shows’. For us, that means doing more than saying thank you; it means showing up, giving time, and treating every member of our community with warmth and respect.”
What began as a housekeeping initiative became a moment of connection and gratitude, echoing the spirit of the International Day of Older Persons; a reminder that hospitality is not only a service, but an act of humanity.
