Côte d’Ivoire thrash Seychelles 7-0 to clinch World Cup spot

Côte d’Ivoire confirmed their place at the 2026 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) World Cup, following a commanding 7–0 win over Seychelles in their match day 9 qualifier on Friday.

The Elephants were ruthless at the Côte d'Or National Sports Complex, in Mauritius – as Seychelles continues to host its ‘home’ games abroad due to Stad Linite not meeting Fifa standards – extending their unbeaten run and maintaining a perfect defensive record in Group F.

Seychelles of head coach Ralph Jean-Louis, already eliminated from contention, endured another difficult evening against the group leaders.
