Takamaka primary ends academic year with school fête |13 December 2019
As part of its end-of-year activities, a school fête was organised by the Takamaka primary school on Saturday December 7.
The activity saw the participation of school children, parents and it was also open to members of the community.
To note, the school fête was an initiative of the school council 6 years ago, with the aim of enhancing parental involvement.
In the morning a variety of recreational activities took place including, face painting, lucky dip, bouncing castle, etc…The highlight of the day was the finals of the Christmas carol competition, its prize giving ceremony, and the raffle draw which took place in the afternoon.
The winners of the Christmas Carols competition were as follows:
Category P1-P3
1st – Tahana Hoareau P3
2nd - Juliana Williams P2
3rd- Hannah Bibi P3
Category P4 – P6
1st – Martina Gergov P6
2nd – Caleb Valentin P5
3rd – Emma Bertin P6
The activity concluded with the prize giving ceremony whereby in all classes, pupils were rewarded for good academic performance, effort, conduct, as well as participation in non-academic subjects.
Prizes were also awarded to a group of special needs pupils following special educational programme.
Immanuella Larue, a P6 pupil came out as the overall best performer for 2019.
